Total exports from SEZs in April amounted to INR 20,548 cr.: EPCES

According to the Export Promotion Council for EOUs & SEZs (EPCES), exports from the country’s special economic zones (SEZs) grew 5.44 per cent in April to Rs 20,548 crore as against Rs 19,488 crore in the same month a year ago.

The major sectors recording healthy growth included biotech, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, computers, electronics, non-conventional energy, plastic, rubber, trading and services, according to EPCES.

Mr Vinay Sharma, Officiating Chairman of EPCES, said that the government’s policies have facilitated a healthy growth roadmap for the manufacturing and service industry, reports said.
