The Shipping Corporation of India has deployed its container vessel on Eastern Ports of Haldia and Kolkata by docking her flagship vessel m.v. Lal Bahadur Shastri at Haldia on 20th July 2018. The vessel with deadweight tonnage of 28,803 MT and a capacity of 1869 TEUs is one the largest container ship that has called Haldia /Kolkata. An exchange of 1048 TEUs was made on her maiden voyage.
Shri. G. Senthilvel (Deputy Chairman-HDC), Shri. Swapan Saharoy (General Manager-Traffic), Shri. Debashish Nandi (Deputy General Manager – SCI) and team along with Capt. Sudeep Banerjee (Terminal Head-HICT) exchanged greetings with Capt. Ashok Kumar (Master of the vessel) on her maiden voyage.
