NITI Aayog has constituted Working Groups on National Blue Economy and Sustainable Development Policy.
A Sub-Committee, comprising Dr. Vishwapati Trivedi, Former Secretary to GOI, Mr. Sujeet Samaddar, Senior Consultant, NITI Aayog, New Delhi, Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Director General, Research and Information System for Developing Countries(RIS), New Delhi and Mr Satinder Pal Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, New Delhi has been formed to provide inputs on ‘Shipping Services’ to the Working Group on Logistics, Infrastructure and Shipping.
The Committee is headed by Admiral R. K. Dhowan (Retd), Chairman National Maritime Foundation.
The first meeting of the Sub-Committee will be held on October 15th. in ‘Sagar Manthan’(Conference Hall), of the Transport Bhawan,
Members of the Sub-Committee would like to discuss the current policies of the Government on ‘Shipping Services’, their impact, and changes, if any, required in light of challenges being faced by the stakeholders. You are, accordingly, requested to furnish your inputs/proposals by October eleven so that these may be collated and discussed during the meeting.The focus of the meeting will be on the following facets of ‘Shipping Services:
They include Ship owners and operators. Shipping agents and brokers. Ship management, Liner and port management, Ship suppliers, Container shipping Services, Stevedores, Roll-on roll-off Operators, Customs clearance, Freight forwarders, Ship repair, Containerization, Development of shipping value chain.
