MUMBAI: BCBA had organized an awareness programme pertaining to the problem faced by the Custom Brokers in filing advance noted BOE and availing DPD facility.
The facility of DPD and advance noting was a major initiative by the JNCH for promoting faster trade facilitation in India.
The programme was on 17th July, 2018 at Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA).
The session started with welcome note by Mr. Paresh Thakkar- Hon. Secretary, BCBA. Mr. Karunakar Shetty- President, BCBA gave a brief on the agenda of the Seminar.
The program was presided by Shri Subhash Agarwal, IRS – Commissioner – Nhava Sheva III & IV and Appraising Officer Mr. Ravi Bhushan. The other dignitaries at the dais were Mr. Kiran Rambhia – Sr. Vice President and other BCBA office bearers.
The agenda of the program was to promote DPD facility and to find the solution for problem faced by the members in advance noting.
The session started with a presentation by Mr. Hiren Ruparel – Hon. Treasurer, BCBA who enlightened the members with the benefits of DPD and advance noting which was then followed by a presentation by customs which highlighted the need of DPD in clearance and how the process of registration in advance noting can be made easier. It was a positive discussion with lots of outcomes and redressal for the issues being raised in availing these facilities.
DPD is a game changer in today’s era. Members who are registered as a DPD client can avail facility of direct port delivery from Terminals. The charges for 20ft and 40 ft are very low as compared to CFS delivery.
The members attended in large numbers for this seminar raising their issue in the house and thus seeking the redressal for the same.
