PSA International Pte Ltd, the Singapore-based global port operator, along with private equity firm Gateway Partners Ltd, will be acquiring controlling stake in Distribution Logistics Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd (DLI) from its owner Infrastructure India Plc (IIP), it is learnt.
According to analysts, this is a step towards PSA diversifying into inland logistics in India. It is already into container terminal operations at key locations.
DLI is a national, infrastructure based, rail-linked logistics company with large warehousing capacity and the capability to deliver integrated supply chain solutions. Founded in 1972 as a south India-based container handling and transport company, DLI has transformed into a pan-India multimodal operator with large road and rail linked terminals.
According to IIP, DLI is strategically located in areas covering over 60 per cent of containerised ex-im cargo in India.
IIP is a closed-ended investment company, incorporated in the Isle of Man, providing investors with the opportunity to invest in Indian infrastructure assets. It trades on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
